in real time. Drawing in this way may be fun for a while
but it is much more natural to draw on a horizontal sur-
face than on a vertical one. The novelty wears off, even
with young children.
The writing or graphics tablet
This is a square or rectangular tablet over which a sty-
lus is moved to give continuous X-Y co-ordinate
information. In any position on the tablet the press of a
button loads the co-ordinates for that position into the
