Thanks to the Web, communications satellites, and international commerce, the world is becoming a smaller place. We hear the same music, we see the same movies, and many of us get the same news reports. Communicating across boundaries of culture is difficult but getting easier.
Maybe what we have been talking about in this chapter is nothing more than good manners, that is, "speaking" in a way that is easy for others to understand and making our audience feel welcome and appreciated.
