Earlier we examined how self-confidence can help you to assert yourself. In fact, if you are self-confident, difficult situations in which you need consciously to assert yourself actually diminish. You are not seen as the easy push-over or victim, so people are more likely to relate to you in a positive way. Self-confidence can be enhanced if you learn how better to relate to people, whoever they are: friends, acquaintances, colleagues, bosses, clients and people you are meeting for the first time – even people with whom you don’t usually see eye to eye.
