This chapter describes the requirement for an Integrated Management System (IMS) within the laboratory. It starts by discussing the benefits of such a system and then describing an appropriate system. It then covers the general requirements for the system and describes the goals of using such a system. The chapter then looks at the relevant policies and the requirement for a management committee.
