This chapter addresses a range of human resource processes within the laboratory. It deals with the whole process of recruitment, covering the roles of employees within the laboratory to the security screening of potential employees. It deals with contracts and nondisclosure agreements and job descriptions and the required skills and training needs assessment. It also looks at the monitoring and review of staff and employee appraisals and the Code of Ethics that is used within the laboratory. It also looks at the process for employee termination and changes of role within the laboratory.
