Mixed Media
Many designers prefer to render with a variety of color mediums simultaneously. The advantages to mixing media are greater speed of execution and the ability to choose particular techniques in which you are proficient. For example, if you enjoy watercolor washes but become frustrated with detailed brush-work, you can achieve faster and more accurate results by putting in large areas of color with watercolor wash, and then using colored pencil or marker for the details.
