5.3 Conclusions
This chapter provides a theoretical overview of two key dimensions of entre-
preneurial ventures: legitimacy and stigma. We detail the antecedents of legit-
imacy and how organisations, especially newly emerged ventures, may become
legitimate actors and exploit such conditions to obtain the social and financial
resources needed to survive and grow, thus pointing to the consequences of
legitimacy for entrepreneuria
