Third, we contribute to the stream of research on the impact of digital finan-
cing tools on entrepreneurial ventures and their communication strategies when
interacting with external audiences (Kaminski & Hopp, 2019; Di Pietro et al.,
2020; Oo et al., 2019). While there has been a flourishing of studies showing the
influence of digitally mediated communication on organisational activities (see
e.g. Kanawattanachai & Yoo, 2007; Gibson & Gibbs, 2006), the present book
expands our knowledge on this topic by examining the influence of language on
entrepreneurial activities occurring through digital platforms.
