When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Recording Settings
To record database and application pool settings:
Display the SharePoint Central Administration page in the browser.
Click Configure virtual server settings → choose the virtual server from the displayed list → Manage content database → choose the database from the displayed list. The browser displays the database settings as shown in Figure A-1.
Record the setting or simply print the page for later reference.
Repeat these steps for each virtual server on the physical server.
Use the Remote Desktop utility to log on to the server hosting the site.
From the server's Start menu, choose Adminstrative Tools → Internet Information Services (IIS).
In IIS, select the default web site and click Action → Properties → Home Directory to display the application pool setting (for example,
StsAppPool1).Record the setting and repeat step 7 for each top-level SharePoint site on the server (top-level web sites in IIS are virtual servers in SharePoint).
