Summary
In this chapter we examined PLC systems as a first mile access network solution. The chapter covered the PHY layer properties of the PLC network and also the various technologies needed to deploy a PLC network. We concluded this chapter with an analysis of PLC market trends and a quick look at an HFC plant as another alternative in the last mile.
