Artificial intelligence (AI) represents a prolific change in some graphic design workflows and can help automate some manual tasks. Artificial intelligence can be used to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase accuracy, but don’t be fooled; artificial intelligence has its downsides, too. Some graphic designers point to artificial intelligence stealing original artwork and design solutions, reducing job opportunities, and other legitimate moral and ethical concerns. Right now, artificial intelligence is not a threat for stealing your job, but graphic designers who know how to use artificial intelligence just might because artificial intelligence enables these individuals to work very efficiently. Artificial intelligence has been a disrupter in a wide swath of industries and disciplines, so it makes sense that the graphic design profession will be disrupted, too.
