It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Edit an Image After it’s Been Placed?
Let’s say you’ve placed an image or graphic into your document and you decide that the image needs an edit or tweak. The beauty of InDesign is that when you place an image, you’re actually creating a link to the original image file. If you want to edit the image, just click on the image frame to select it, then Right-click and choose Edit With.
