6 Adopt and adapt

6.1 The practitioner’s dilemma
Experience tells us that a successful change management programme is based upon the practitioner’s ability to successfully adopt and adapt the principles of change management to the needs of their organization. ‘Adopt and adapt’ has rightfully become a guiding principle in best practice.
