IT governance is an important but often contentious topic within IT service delivery. Few would argue with the statement that managers and investors alike need to make sure that IT investments are being implemented and operated both efficiently and in line with the needs of the organization and its customers. Regulated industries such as banking, healthcare, food, energy, telecommunications, and transport also need a means to ensure that stringent legal and regulatory requirements are being met to minimize health, financial, legal, and personal risks.
