Before we proceed, note that we can migrate only those components that are present in the PowerCenter Designer screen. To migrate the components, perform the following steps:
- Open Designer, and from Navigator, select the component you wish to migrate. Go to Repository | Export Objects. We selected a mapping m_UNION for reference in this book as shown in the following screenshot. When you export a mapping, corresponding sources, targets, and transformations get exported. Similarly. when you export a workflow from Workflow Manager, all the tasks present in the workflow get exported. So, you need not separately export all the components.
We are exporting the components from the learnwell folder:
