So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Configuring the Lookup transformation
You have learned how to create the lookup transformation in the preceding section. We will implement the similar mapping shown in Joiner transformation using Lookup transformation. We will use the EMPLOYEE oracle table as source and look up on the EMP_FILE flat file. Follow these steps to implement the mapping:
- Drag the EMPLOYEE table as the source in Mapping Designer, and drag the target.
- We have already created the Lookup transformation in the preceding section.
- To get the relevant data based on the matching condition of the EMPLOYEE table and the EMP_FILE file, drag the EMPLOYEE_ID column from the EMPLOYEE table to Lookup transformation. Drag the corresponding columns from the EMPLOYEE Source ...
