Introduction to finance
This chapter aims to give the reader a basic understanding of the finance function and what interaction the supply chain/merchandising function will have with the finance function. It will also aim to demonstrate the relationship between stock holding and cash flow. It will be a brief overview, as a detailed understanding of finance is not required when working in supply chain/merchandising.
The finance function is much more diverse and value adding than its stereotype of a dry, boring area of business might imply.
