It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

By default, Auto DevOps is turned on for every project. It is essentially a very elaborate .gitlab-ci.yml file, which outlines the entire DevOps pipeline from the creating phase onward.
It fits in the GitLab vision of providing one application to collaborate on the entire DevOps life cycle of an application.
