So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Runit recipe
GitLab has chosen runit (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Runit) as the process supervisor that handles all of the services that are installed with the omnibus-gitlab package. On install, it determines which init system is used and it makes sure it is called appropriately during boot. It manages the stopping, starting, reloading, and enabling of services.
