I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Technical requirements
To manage omnibus installs, you need to use a central configuration file called gitlab.rb. You need to create it yourself or copy an example of one. A template of this configuration file is available at https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/omnibus-gitlab/blob/master/files/gitlab-config-template/gitlab.rb.template. Please note that it isn't updated after upgrades. We will quote and discuss parts of this file in this chapter.
