Chapter 5. Firewalls

In this chapter, we'll discuss firewalls and their implementation—especially how they integrate with other network security devices such as an IDS (intrusion detection system) and network management products in general. Although most commercial firewalls provide the same basic services, not all of them implement their features in the same way. Therefore, you should select a firewall based on the security it provides, while ensuring that it is a proper fit for your business requirements.
