With the agents installed on the server that needs to be protected, you can enable bare metal protection. Complete the following steps to configure protection groups:
- Open your DPM Administrator Console, click on the Protection workspace, and then click on the New button in the ribbon bar to start the wizard for creating a new protection group.
- In the Welcome to the New Protection Group Wizard page, select Servers. Windows clients do not have an option for bare metal recovery, although you can protect them using system state only. Click on Next > to continue:
