3.1 WHAT IS MISTAKE PROOFING?

Mistake proong is an approach for achieving defect-free

services and products. It is based on a quality system

known as Zero Quality Control (ZQC).

Zero refers to

the goal of this approach: to make products and deliver

services with zero defects. In other words, it is a way

of building quality into processes or integrating qual-

ity directly into standard work. It is a core element of

autonomation, the second principle of lean management
