6.2.4 Rounding Checklist

Figure6.4 shows another example of a checklist that sup-

ports standard work, this time in the frequently used pro-

cess of hospital rounds. The original checklist was formatted

into a visual aid, with prompts designed to prevent teams

from making mistakes by missing items during rounds. The

prompts follow the most effective sequence for the process,

with color coding to call out the roles and responsibilities of

each member of the rounding team. Standard times are listed

for each part of the process.
