A big benefit of OKRs is that they will create alignment between all teams involved. That this doesn’t happen by itself was the conclusion of a company specialized in developing mobile apps. Their teams created OKRs, put everything in their OKR software system, but missed the mark with the alignment stage.
Leaders didn’t feel they could influence the OKRs or help teams find alignment. They felt overwhelmed because they didn’t only want to have alignment on their company goals (vertical alignment), but the teams also wanted to align with each other (horizontal alignment).
