9.4 CONCLUSION
We have shown how the concepts in the previous two chapters can be
implemented in practice on two applications, AVSR and multimodal
speaker localisation, in both cases leading to an accuracy above that of
the corresponding monomodal methods. Most, if not, all the methods
presented here are very general because they do not depend on any
specific attributes of the modalities used. This makes them applicable
to many other problems beside the two presented here.
In the first part, we have focused on high-level fusion methods
