In Chapter 7, the methods for multimodal integration have been

categorised and presented in detail. In Chapter 8, these theoretical

methods have been illustrated on two examples. In this chapter, we

will go further into practical applications and show two instances of

how a method of multimodal integration can be implemented, this

time aiming to concretise the concepts previously presented. The ﬁrst

example shown is that of enhanced speech recognition, with a particu-

lar focus on the disabled, while the second is biometric authentication.
