Chapter 4: Lenses and Accessories
The real advantage that dSLR cameras have over compact, point-and-shoots is the ability to change lenses. You can choose from a variety of focal lengths and apertures, from super-wide fisheye lenses to super telephoto lenses. In many ways, lenses are more important than the camera—chances are good that you will replace cameras over the years, but good lenses can last a lifetime. Think of the D3200 as part of your photo/video system.
There are also accessories that can make aspects of your photography easier. Along with the Nikon and Nikon-compatible lenses, the Nikon system includes external dedicated flash units to illuminate your images, microphones for better sound recording, and a Wireless Mobile adapter that connects your camera to a smart device.
