6.15.4 Extending Interfaces

Interface definition starts with keyword interface instead of class, for example, public

interface Shape. Interface can be public or default specifier. Interface can hold only method

name and no implementation. This means that all the methods are abstract methods. How-

ever, there is no need to use the key word abstract in front of interface. An interface can

also define final and static declarations. For example, we show three abstract methods

in an interface called Shape in our next Example 6.12a. The concept diagram is shown in

Figure 6.6.
