16.5.5 Subtype

When a new class is implemented using a super class, we can say that the new subclass we have

created is a subtype. This process can be called both subtyping as well as inheritance. In OOP lan-

guages, these processes are also called subclasses. Refer to Figure 6.1 Student inherits from Person.

For example: class Student extends Person { ……….}

Student is a subtype of Person

Student1 inherits from Person. Hence Student1 is also called a subclass

There is second case where we can say that derived class is a subtype of super. When a class
