1.5.5 Elements of OOP: Classes

1.5.5.1 Instances of Classes

A collection of objects is shown in Figure 1.2. We can also define as an array of instances

objects. Here unlike array, a class can have different data types as its elements.

Class defines abstract, that is, hidden characteristics of an object including attributes and

behaviour. A class called Student can be viewed as a factory producing instances of object

student that have different attributes (i.e. individual data) and a common functionality

(i.e. common functions). We can say class is a repository for behaviour of the object.
