It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

PANALITES are a shadowless fill–light which fits onto the camera just above the mattebox and which can be dimmed to almost nothing without affecting the color temperature of the light. The Mk.l version (650/1000w tungsten) works by changing a row of cylindrical reflectors, from black to white, which reflect the light. The Mk.ll version (dimmable HMD incorporates a disk type variable density filter.
