Iris Brackets and Rods

Two types of iris rod brackets are available to support a matte box and long and heavy lenses when appropriate. A short, lightweight, type is available for use when hand holding and a long type is for use when supporting heavy lenses.

To fit iris rods that support a matte box only, slide the short bracket into the vertical slides situated on the motor side of the lens. The iris rods and the matte box are locked in position by locking rings which should only be tightened ‘finger tight.’

PANAFLEX cameras are normally supplied with three pairs of iris rods 5", 7" and 9" long. The most suitable length pair for a particular lens should be selected and fitted onto the iris rod bracket. PLATINUM and GII PANAFLEX cameras may be ...
