It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
PANAFLEX Lightweight Camera
The PANAFLEX LIGHTWEIGHT camera is especially intended for use with Steadicam and with extended remote camera crane equipment.
With a body made of magnesium, and with all nonessential items stripped off it, it is as light as a serious, register–pin, camera can be.
To save weight the PANAFLEX LIGHTWEIGHT camera has a fixed opening shutter (180° is the norm but 172.8° and 144° are readily available and any other can be made to order). For the same reason the digital display unit (DDR) is not normally fitted but can be plugged into the top of the camera for checking the fps, the footage used and the battery condition when required.
