2.4. Customizing Shortcuts and Menus

You can customize keyboard shortcuts and menus in the Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus dialog box (see Figure 2.29), which you can select from the Edit menu or by choosing WindowWorkspace.

You can make your own custom keyboard shortcuts for application menus, panel (panel) menus, or for tools in the Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus dialog box. Be advised that most shortcuts are already in use and if someone else uses Photoshop on your computer, he may want to load the default keyboard shortcuts because he may not be familiar with your custom shortcuts. I usually leave the default keyboard shortcuts loaded to simplify things, but if you have a particular reason to make some custom shortcuts, this could be very useful to you.

To make a new custom keyboard shortcut, click on the Keyboard Shortcuts tab, select the command or tool, click on the existing keyboard shortcut or the blank shortcut area if it doesn't have a shortcut, and type the new shortcut. Photoshop gives you a warning message if another command or tool uses the new shortcut.
