16.5. Summary
This chapter described uses of transparency and opacity in Photoshop, silhouetting, combining images into a collage, and drawing the eye to certain parts of an image. Following are key concepts:
Transparency and opacity can be used to make image parts seem like they flow together in an image collage.
Transparency can be used when silhouetting an object and can be exported from Photoshop by using clipping paths, the bitmap image mode, and in layered PSD format files for the external applications that support PSD format.
Custom image collages can be created for combining images in an artistic or practical way or in special ways that help you easily remove unwanted objects or noise.
You can use blurring and sharpening, increasing and decreasing contrast, and combinations of warm, saturated colors and cool, low-saturation colors to draw the eye to certain parts of an image.
