The following transformer winding configurations are often mentioned. Only a few of them are used in the plant distribution;
| Y–Δ | The best choice for HV grid transformers, with solidly grounded neutral and lower BIL. Yd11 was the configuration used on our last project for the main 275 kV transformers. Yd1 is equally common. |
