24.6. Summary
This chapter has provided some basic financial scenarios that are commonly applied. We have reviewed how to work with Analysis Services in the context of financial comparative, trend, variance analysis, and the use of KPIs. From the standpoint of many-to-many dimensions, we have reviewed the currency conversion scenario and noted that you should also be concerned about precision. We also reviewed parent/child dimension scenarios concerning employees and accounts and delved into the creation of unary operators and custom rollup scenarios. But as you can see, although these scenarios are specific to financial scenarios, they are also applicable to many other data warehousing scenarios.
