Generating Wireless Markup

Wireless Markup Language (WML) is a standard vocabulary used to render data in WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) devices. These devices include everything from mobile phones and personal digital assistants (PDAs) to pagers and set-top boxes.

Basically, a WAP site consists of one or more WML pages. Like Web pages, this approach allows devices to download just the bit of information required. Each page contains a deck of cards, and each card represents an element on the page. Thus, a page can contain one or more cards. As you might guess, you create a card with the <card> element. When you create multiple cards, only the first card displays on the mobile device. The user can then navigate to other cards.
