It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

As XML proliferates around the computing world, tools like the DOM and SAX are being used to facilitate development. It’s vital for applications to be able to communicate with information that is formatted with XML. The features in SAX and the DOM give a developer a lot of flexibility and provide a large set of tools to developers for integrating and developing with large sets of XML data.
Coupled with a technology like ASP, applications can be written to deliver information in a wide variety of formats. Information be delivered not only in XML or HTML, but also in any XML-based language. Even the XML itself can be delivered in different variations, tailored to a client’s request.
