Part IV. Bringing It Together
It's time to take all of these little pieces we've built, bring them together into one head, weight them, and rig them for use. The first thing we'll need to do is stick the pieces together. After that, we'll build an ear and neck to finish off the whole head. Next we'll set the head up for rigging, both for the shape-based rig I've used for all of the images and for a skeleton for a video-game-style rig, which is set up without blend shapes but instead only with joints. If you're following along in order to create a full head, you'll need to complete this skeleton setup before doing the shape-building work in Chapter 6 ("Mouth Keys") for the mouth and Chapter 9 ("Eye and Brow Keys") for the brows.
