IN THE ABOVE QUOTATION from Plato’s Republic, the word ‘myth’ is sometimes translated as ‘the noble lie’. Whether the myths – or – lies common in the mainstream treatment of Information Systems (IS) strategy are noble or not, deliberate or not, I am uncertain.
