I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
11.8 RANKINE’S FORMULA
It has been shown that Euler’s formula is valid for long column having l/k ratio greater than a certain value for a particular material. Euler’s formula does not give a reliable result for short column and length of column intermediate between very long to short.
An empirical formula has been proposed by Rankine for columns of all lengths. The proposed formula is
