Everything Is Visible
A picture is worth a thousand words.
Introduction
We’ve all heard the famous saying that opens this chapter, and intuitively we know that it’s true. Seeing a picture of a favorite memory, a beautiful vacation spot, or a tragedy evokes feelings inexpressible in words. Pictures instantly convey information and draw us into the story being told. Somehow, this knowledge has not been translated into our workplaces. Data are often hidden in words and spreadsheets and reports. Vital information is obscured from those that need it most, resulting in poor decision making, missed opportunities, and disengagement. If a picture is worth a thousand words, information made visible in the workplace is priceless.
