Just about everything to do with actions happens in the Actions panel, so let’s take a little tour (Figure 6.1).

1. Panel menu. The place you find commands such as Button Mode, Insert Menu Item, Load Actions, and built-in actions.

2. Stop Playing/Recording button. Yes, it’s before the Record button, and that seems odd to me—but anyhoo, that’s the button you click once you’re done recording your action and the button you click to stop an action that’s playing.
