Time and light. They move fast.
Photographers have to move with the light, surely as animals migrate with the seasons. The sun moves relentlessly, and gives you various gifts throughout the day—angling, bouncing, and careening around a location. Look for those gifts, be flexible, and stand ready to grab them at camera. They may be simply splendid on their own, and all you need to do is frame and shoot. Or, as is stated on many gifts, some assembly may be required. An adjustment here and there.
And as the day closes and the sun plummets for the horizon, get ready to race it.
