I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
This book is dedicated to Bruce Williams (1950–2016). Bruce was the person who gave me the encouragement and confidence to leave my comfort zone of leading product for other companies and to go out on my own and start the Silicon Valley Product Group (SVPG).
In addition to being an exceptional human who truly helped improve the lives of countless people, he was the best friend that anyone could ever hope for. Bruce provided me everything from office space to expert advice on design, sales, marketing, publishing, finance, and more.
Without Bruce, it's likely I would have stayed a product leader and not had the opportunity to write any books or to enjoy the previously unimaginable quality of life that I've experienced as part of SVPG. I thank Bruce for encouraging me to make the single best career decision I have ever made.
I wish that everyone could be lucky enough to have a Bruce Williams in their lives.
