The First Client

Introduction

In a company that sells software to businesses, the first real paying client changes everything.

It’s the initial stage of validation and “Product/Market Fit.”

Start the business development cycle long before your MVP version is ready to be shown to anyone. It will take time to line up interested prospects and you can finalize your product development work in the meantime.

Aim for your first paying client to be a company that you already know in the industry. If you know the people working there and they respect you and you know their business, its challenges, and a bit about their internal processes, it makes signing them up much easier.
