Imagemaps
Imagemaps define mappings between regions of an image,
marked in an HTML document with the
ISMAP attribute, and
link destinations. Client-side imagemaps are handled entirely
by the user agent. Server-side maps cause the user agent to
issue a
GET request for the URL specified in the enclosing
HTML
A element; the x and y coordinates of the point clicked
are passed as the query string value.
Imagemaps are set up on the server by associating a handler
of
imap-file with a map file. The coordinates supplied by the
user agent are compared against rules specified in the map
file, which may take the following forms:
base url
Base URL for relative URLs in the map file (overrides the
ImapBase directive).
default ["text"]
Action to take if the coordinates do not fall within any of
the defined regions and there are no defined points.
circle action ["text"] x1,y1 x2,y2 ["text"]
Defines a circular region specified by the coordinates of
the center and a point on the circumference.
poly action ["text"] x1,y1 x2,y2 x3,y3 ... ["text"]
Defines a polygonal region specified by the coordinates
of the vertices. Between 3 and 100 vertices may be speci-
fied.
rect action ["text"] x1,y1 x2,y2 ["text"]
Defines a rectangular region specified by the coordinates
of two opposing corners.
point action ["text"] x,y ["text"]
If the selected point falls outside any of the areas defined
with
circle, poly, and rect dir
