Working with Sound Effects

Remember this:

A kiss is still a kiss, but a sigh can be turned into a roaring monster1.

There are limitless sources for sounds: camera tracks, commercial libraries, foley, even mouth noises.

Sound selection and placement is easiest if you follow some simple rules.

When designing new sounds, it’s best to start with well-defined palettes.
